Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Executive to join our Advisory team in Birkirkara. The successful candidate will manage the tax requirements of a diverse client portfolio, provide expert advice on Maltese and international tax matters, and contribute to the firm’s business development initiatives.
This is a client-facing role with opportunities for professional growth and career progression within PKF Malta.
(Please note: This role is open only to candidates already based in Malta.)
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Advisory

Ensure clients’ compliance with Maltese tax legislation.

Prepare and submit corporate and individual income tax returns and computations.

Prepare and submit tax refund claims, shareholder registrations, and dividend warrants.

Advise clients on Maltese tax matters and keep them informed of international tax developments.

Liaise with the Malta Tax and Customs Administration as required.
Research & Development

Keep abreast of changes in local and international tax legislation.

Conduct research to identify new opportunities and enhance the firm’s tax service offerings.
Client & Team Engagement

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

Supervise, mentor, and provide training to junior tax colleagues.

Contribute to the delivery of internal tax training sessions.
Qualifications & Requirements

Degree in Accountancy, Law, or a related field such as Masters in Tax, ADIT, MIT Tax Specialisation, would be an asset.

Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification tax experience in a professional services environment.

Excellent command of Maltese tax legislation and strong knowledge of accounting standards (local and international).

Membership or eligibility for membership with the Malta Institute of Taxation or a recognised professional body will be considered an asset.

Familiarity with tax and accounting software will be considered an advantage.

Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset.

Ability to manage multiple engagements, work independently and collaboratively, and meet demanding deadlines under pressure.
