BlockFinance: Opportunities in the Asset Management Sector

Yesterday’s #BlockFinance event organised by FinanceMalta and sponsored by #PKFMalta was a huge success! All the way from Poland, our guest Mr Jędrzej Iwaszkiewicz, the co-founder of “The Heart” joined the second panel in order to discuss opportunities for using new technologies in the asset management sector.

The innovative technological ideas which #Poland is adopting in the field of blockchain technologies and the banking sector are ones which are very much relevant to the local market. We look forward to hosting Jędrzej again in the coming months.

FinanceMalta and Blockchain Malta will be hosting the second seminar in the series of BlockFinance events aimed at discussing how blockchain will affect different sectors in the financial services industry. The seminar, which will run under the Chatham House Rule, will be held in the morning on the 18th September at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard. This session is being sponsored by PKF (Malta).

This BlockFinance event will see all delegates discussing the financial opportunities and applications from the emerging technologies pertaining to Blockchain and cryptocurrency as well as issues arising from any aspect of DLT.

The session will be introduced by FinanceMalta Chairman, Kenneth Farrugia followed by a panel discussion on Blockchain regulation with the participation of Martha Checuti from MFSA, Antonio Giannino from Amagis Capital, Edward McArdle from Alter Domus Malta and Andrew Caruana Scicluna from Camilleri Preziosi. There will be two presentations before the coffee break; one by Chris Mifsud Bonnici from PwC entitled ‘New Forms of Fund?’, the other by Dr Max Ganado on the Legal Personality and Innovative Technology Arrangements.

The seminar will come to an end with another panel session entitled ‘The Fund of the Future’ with the participation of Mark Agius from BOV, Kristen Haehndel, CEO of DQR, Anabel Mifsud from Fexserv, and Jedrzej Iwaszkiewicz co-founder of ‘The Heart’ in Warsaw Poland.
